This is really the only place to take a German car. I've actually gone to one other shop because I needed a loaner car. BIG MISTAKE!! that cost me thousands of dollars in false diagnosis of air-conditioning repairs. Next time, I'll rent a car and drop it off here.

I’ve went there for the first time in 2022 while in college at NCSU with no knowledge of cars after taking it to a pepboys and them wanting us to pay a bunch of money. Dimitri is THE BEST guy and doesn’t try to overcharge. He always deals with me coming in randomly paranoid because a light went off or a noise is happening. There’s not many places that do german cars and if you were to go to any it should be this place. They take care of you. Four years later, any car problem, I go to him and you should too! Also PSA to the people saying he doesn’t answer the phone. Probably because he’s literally always working on a car and would rather if you have an issue just bring it in and not try to explain it over the phone! But anyways he’s the best and will treat you the best!

Have a 1990 Jetta that needs some service and a little engine mount diag, can't get them on the phone or via email. It's a shame that the three euro shops all across the street from each other will not touch the older German cars even though these folks have the vanagons and cabrios sitting in the parking lot.

The folks at West German with Demetri' s coordination have worked on two older BMWs I've owned for the past several years. The work is always excellent and prices are reasonable. They take pride in their work and also are enjoyable to talk with = friendly, helpful attitude - always!

tl;dr They're great for old and new German stuff, and reasonably priced. I've been taking my BMW's to West German for over 20 years, and they have been terrific. On several occasions they have NOT done work I didn't need and saved me money. The best example was when I slid on ice and hit a curb, bending my control arm. These things need to be done on both sides so the bushings match. When I came to pick up my car, the bill was hundreds less than quoted, and they explained they were able to press my "old" bushing (it was a special solid bushing that was in fine shape) and so they didn't need to do the other work quoted. They could have done it anyway and I would never have been the wiser, but the fact they've done that kind of thing several times means I'll come to them every time. Highly recommended!
